Quantico Va Map - The Marine Corps base has an extensive trail system available for a variety of recreational activities. Bicycle paths are maintained on the east and west sides of the Base. Some trails are designated open to all users, but some are restricted to foot traffic. Dogs must remain on a leash. Please refer to the Trail Map to determine the appropriate trail for your desired activity.

There are over 13 miles of trails in Training Area 6C. The trail is accessible via the parking area on Russell Rd or the parking area above Breckenridge Rd. Note that the road to access the Breckenridge parking lot has several stream crossings. If flow conditions are high or hazardous, the gates to the Breckenridge Rd and Russell Rd trailhead will be locked and all trails will be closed.

There are many paths spread out on the Mainside that are used a lot. They give residents and Base employees the opportunity to walk, jog, ride horses, mountain bikes, and enjoy nature. Stadium lines and sewers are open 365 days a year, unless otherwise noted. All other roads must be closed to cyclists when the ground is soft or very wet. Track closure updates are available from the NREA Branch on the MCBQ website.

ALL trails are closed after dark. All roads are quite heavy. Motorized vehicles are not permitted on any track.

Cyclists using the MCBQ track system are required to obtain a cycling permit through iSportsman and use the electronic sign-out system during recreation in Training Area 6C.

MCB Quantico is located 35 miles south of Washington, D.C., in the Commonwealth of Virginia Prince William County. To the south of the base are Fredericksburg and Richmond, to the east is the Chesapeake Bay, and to the west are the Appalachian Mountains. The nearest airports are Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C., and Washington Dulles International Airport in Chantilly, Virginia. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is approximately 33 miles from the base. Washington Dulles International Airport is approximately 40 miles from the base.

If you do not have a valid military ID, you may need to stop at the Visitor Control Center to gain basic access. Click here for more information about the Visitor Control Center at MCB Quantico.

If you arrive at MCB Quantico during normal business hours, report to the Installation Personnel Administration Center on the second deck of Building 2006 on Hawkins Avenue. You can reach IPAC at 1 (703) 784-4479. IPAC will assist with initial administrative check-in matters, including updating personnel records, original booking recommendations, travel claims, unit diary issues, and welcome-on-board briefing information.

Once Marines have completed the IPAC check-in process, they will be transferred to their assigned battalion or squadron headquarters to issue check-in sheets and other check-in activities.

The Visitor Control Center issues temporary bike passes and can provide directions and information about the base. For more information on basic access, visit the MCB Quantico website.

The town of Dumfries is just a few minutes north of MCB Quantico and only 10 miles from Belvoir Fort. Located around 5,900 people. With easy access to Route 1 and Interstate 95, Dumfries is not far from nearby Triangle attractions, including the National Museum of the Marine Corps and Prince William Forest Park. The city also has a historic house museum and park.

The city of Fredericksburg is located south of MCB Quantico and Stafford County. The city borders the Rappahannock River, providing several opportunities for water recreation. Home to about 29,000 people, Fredericksburg is known for its rich history, with museums, trails, churches, homes and battlefields that chronicle the colonial era, the Civil War, and more. Other attractions in the area include art galleries, theaters, golf courses, shopping, and 21 outdoor spaces, parks and trails.

Spotsylvania County is located outside of Fredericksburg, south of MCB Quantico. About 136,000 people live in this province. Known as the "Crossroads of the Civil War", Spotsylvania County has many historical sites, battlefields, parks and attractions. Spotsylvania's 13,000-acre Lake Anna is ideal for sailing, water skiing, swimming, fishing, camping and other outdoor activities. Spotsylvania also offers residents and visitors several shopping venues, wineries, breweries, restaurants, and more.

Stafford County is located south of MCB Quantico and is bordered by the Rappahannock and Potomac rivers. It is home to nearly 153,000 people and the childhood home of George Washington. The province has many historical attractions, parks, golf courses, breweries, wineries, and shopping opportunities. The 17-hectare Government Island historic natural area and archaeological site provides excellent walking and biking trails. The district's visitor center is located in the museum shop of the 18th century Belmont estate: the home and studio of Gari Melchers, portrait painter, muralist and American Impressionist painter.
